Welcome to Animal Mind and Behaviour
Do you have a behaviour or training problem with your animal?
When we bring an animal into our family we have high hopes of developing a wonderful relationship with our new companion. Our animals often play a very big part in our lives – we love and care for them, and want to do our best for them. However, occasionally things go wrong. Our pets become ‘unruly’ or ‘disobedient’, we discover we can’t teach them to do the things we would like them to do, and sometimes they behave in ways we simply can’t understand.
If you are experiencing a training or behavioural problem with your horse, dog, cat or ‘small furry’, please take a little time to look around my site at the services I offer. Very often, although problems may seem insurmountable, they stem from confusion and misunderstanding, or a breakdown in communication between yourself and your animal. Sometimes it may be that you need assistance with your training strategies. I can explain why your animal may be behaving in ways that are undesirable, and help you acquire the knowledge and techniques required to improve the situation.
I am not a dog or horse ‘whisperer’, I am a Companion Animal Behaviour Counsellor, which is a recognised, post-graduate, university qualification. I combine the most up-to-date academic knowledge in the fields of companion animal behaviour and training with years of practical experience, and a caring and holistic approach, to identify and treat the underlying causes of your animal’s behavioural problems.
"Did you ever notice when you blow in a dog's face he gets mad at you? But when you take him in a car he sticks his head out the window." ~ Steve Bluestone
